Today is Jonathan's BD, so we are heading over early to celebrate with his family and then Spence will sleep over.

Dave and I will be working on the house and the photographer is finally coming after almost 6 weeks to take pics of the kittens.  Hoping they'll be up for adoption on the site soon, although they are getting along with Karma much better these days.

Spence was going to do fencing, but he was still coughing and had a sore throat last night, so I told him to sleep in as I wanted him not to give Jonathan his cold should be a good day overall.

Yesterday was a very long and boring day at the course and so I left early - once I figured out they were never going to catch up (they were running 2 hrs behind).

Dave was trying to put the drain for my new utility room through the garage wall, when we discovered what we thought was a header on top of the concrete wall, was actually just the concrete wall form which had never been we both took turns trying to crack the concrete - we finally did, but now we have to expand the hole so the pipe fits through it.

Today is all about the entertainment centre once he's back from work.

I have a client meeting this afternoon and the engineer is coming tonight to hopefully sign off on the final design changes for supporting various walls.

Spence has soccer today, fencing tonight and I have coffee tonight if I can slip out before 10pm when the Starbuck's second mom's night coffee for the month.

We are busy today....hoping we get a lot done.

So today I'm off for a course - booked it before I knew Dave was coming, so after he's done some service calls, he'll continue on the entertainment center and once I get home I'll help him for a bit before heading out for a charity event I signed up for before knowing Dave would be here.

Spence has his school work assigned - is loving Shakespeare and art right now (got him an electronic drawing tablet to add to his PC so he could draw on his computer and save his work) and also his computer desk.

Spence working on his metal/woodwork project for school - a new computer table

Yesterday was PE and James / Spence dinner night.  Dave was working on his van and I headed out to a condo board meeting where I heard complaints about how high our condo fees are and how low our reserve fund is .... you have to raise condo fees in order to replenish the reserve after you spend $300k on the roof project - arg.

We made a plan for today - I have to head out to a client first thing, Dave will take apart the temporary fireplace sides and finish the electrical and measure out the boards.  When I get back, we'll work on the entertainment centre and then I have to go to the doc for my annual visit, while he continues.

Spence couldn't sleep, so got up at 5am to tell me he was going downstairs to do school - so off he went.  He got his English, printing, reading, drawing all done before he was tired enough to go back to sleep.

Once I get home, I'll help him with an area he was having trouble in and he can finish up his math, geography and spelling.

Wolfdog Sanctuary Fieldtrip

So yesterday we went to the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary (, which is one of the few places a wolfdog can be surrendered and still live.

These mixed breeds are beautiful and they currently have five resident animals - ranging from a low content (Nikki) to high content (Kuna) dogs.

The low content dogs are similar to regular dogs, very loving, want human attention but are high prey driven.  The high content dogs are similar to their wolf counterparts - very pack oriented, human averse, high prey driven.

We got into the 1/2 acre pen with the dogs and then learned a lot about them and fed them treats the whole time.  It was an amazing experience and the animals were really interesting.

The higher content dogs also look more like a wolf - longer skinny legs, longer muzzle, bigger skull.

Some of these photos were taken by me, some by another mom and one by the woman who runs the sanctuary - her name is Georgina.

Well, Spence and I had a jammie day yesterday and did virtually nothing - it was a very pleasant day.

Spence headed off with James to watch Game of Thrones and play some board games and have his last ride in James' old truck - James got himself a new sports car, which Spence will probably be riding in tonight.

I got a few chores done around the house, helped out Risa by reviewing some stuff for her and read my book, watched TV and played with Karma for a bit.

Dave left yesterday, but with road closures isn't expected to arrive here until later this afternoon.

Today we have the Wolfdog Sanctuary fieldtrip - we have two organized as they have a max of 8 people per tour and we had 14 folks interested....we're in group 1.  Should be a great experience as all wolfdogs get sent here so they don't have to be destroyed.  Will post pictures after our tour.

James dropped off Spencer's futon back at our place since he is officially moving in with Tammy now.  Spence and I plan to put it in his basement today - but we have to move the foosball table and the pinball machine first.

Dave will be arriving sometime tonight, we're hoping before supper so we can all eat together, but if not, no big deal.

Spence is just planning on chilling and I have some chores I want to do and a bit of work and maybe even pop by Sanna's new place to check out her flooring.

So a nice day, but busy.
