We took yesterday off and all just relaxed - very nice.  For BD supper #3 we went to Yume Sushi and had a great meal.  Then I dropped Spence off at home and Dave and I went to Home Depot for some window shopping.

Spence texted me while we were shopping to say he was going over to Jacob's for a sleepover.  When we got home he was already off and so we continued to catch up on our lives and reno ideas and then went to be fairly early as he had an early gig at the Cactus Club and I was just wiped.

Today the plan is more relaxing, once Dave is home and has had a nap from work, we'll get the engineer's questions addressed for the landing.

Spence is making pasta for BD dinner #4 :) that is his BD present to me.

Overall, should be a very relaxing Saturday

After nearly 30 hrs on the road (between bad road conditions, crazy drivers and no snow tires) Dave arrived safely at our place.  We were off though - Spence at the Museum and me at work.  He unloaded and then got stuff organized.....I in the meantime asked if he'd met  Hadn't seen the cat.

So I sent him looking for the cat, cat disappeared - no amount of treat sounds or calling lured the cat out.  Now I'm thinking did the cat escape into -16 degree weather?

So it was an hour before we usually leave, but I was in a tizzy and picked up Spence early and off we went.  By the time I reached the Museum though and we were on the way home, Dave had found Noc in the furthest corner of my room hiding and making himself very, very small.

Instead of turning around (Spence only had about 15 min left on his shift at that point), we went home and Spence practiced parallel and parking lot parking - so far he'd hit a car everytime, but by the end of the parking practice session, he was doing better.  We'll be practicing that daily I think.

Once home, we found Noc, coaxed him out and properly introduced him to Dave.  Noc was a bit hesitant at first, but warmed up quickly.  I caught up with Dave a bit and then he went to take a nap and Spence and I went for drum practice.

After drums, Spence went over to Jacob's for a few hours and I came home to make supper before leaving for BD celebration #2.  I decided on panini's for dinner - I pulled out cheese, meats, sauces, breads, etc and got it all organized.  I made mine and then left the guys to make their own as they got hungry.

I had picked Karma up on the way back from drums and when she saw Dave she was really excited - they get along really well.

Once I fed the animals and myself, I got ready to leave for a tea party - a few of my girlfriends got together and we went to one of their homes close by and had drinks - tea, coffee, wine, juice and caught up with each other for a few hours.  It was a great way to celebrate my bd with friends and was so nice to catch up.

I got home and worked a bit before deciding it was time to catch up with my brother and also talk design ideas and problems I was having with some elements of the kitchen.  Spence chilled with his buddies and played video games for a while.

Spence wanted to stay up till midnight, so he could be the first to tell me Happy Birthday - so he did :) I got a bit hug and a kiss and a off tune Happy Birthday song :) the best from a son :)

Today we are going to take it easy, a bit of school and driving and then dinner out to celebrate my BD.

Dave was supposed to be here by 1 or 2 yesterday, at 11pm he hit Revelstoke and at 5am he hit Golden - the roads are really bad and he doesn't have snow tires.  I told him to stop at my moms and take a nap if he can as he will have been on the road for nearly 24 hrs.  Hoping he gets here safely.

In the meantime, I worked last night and Spence went out with James and grampa.

Today is museum and drums day and we plan to practice parking.  I have some work to do and I will be going out to a friends place for a BD drink tonight - in my case, hot tea :) she got me some wonderful tea to try.

We had a terrific dinner last night at Pulcinnella's with grampa.  It was the 1st of my BD dinners this week.  Spence must have eaten grampa out of house and home :)  Great left overs though.

Today I had a client site visit for most of the day and Spence did his school work at home.  He did his reading (AMA book), printing, math, drums, essay, working on mixing music and livestreaming and then decided to game with his buddies before James comes to pick him up tonight.

Dave was supposed to arrive this afternoon, but the roads haven't been great and so he's been taking lots of breaks and driving slowly - hoping he arrives safely tonight.

We did school yesterday between bouts of the runs again - poor Spence.  He decided he'd play video games and then about a half hour later he was upstairs and tucked into the couch watching TV.  He was debating if he'd go out with his dad, because they were supposed to hit golf balls.  I suggested they have a quiet evening instead and that he still see his dad....that worked.  They bought pizza for supper and Spence said once he got hungry it went down well and they watched TV.

In the meantime, I did a bunch of work yesterday and a few errands.

Today is PE day - so we'll see if we end up going.  I'm going to see how the kiddo is feeling before we head down south.

Back to school and work today - math, reading, writing, spelling, printing, drums, driving practice and a bit of live streaming on tap for school.  I have a few client calls to make but otherwise am reconciling accounts.

Tonight James is taking Spence out for supper and I am trying to decide between grilled cheese and a panini .....

Long night last night.  Karma had the runs and was up every 2 hours to tell me she had to off we went.  My mom fell down 3 times yesterday, so they took her into Emergency and I had to wait till this morning to find out what was going on.

So long night, think I'm going to nap today.

I went first thing and got pumpkin puree and made rice for Karma's breakfast.  It's our go to get the runs away food.  Then I called the hospital to find out they have no clue why my mom was falling so much - they said they'd moved to allow her to take her own meds - so she might have under or over medicated - I'm like - her room is a bio hazard zone - you can't let her dish out her own meds.  You tried that before and it doesn't work because she has the memory of a squirrel....oh well.  All we can do is tell them to help her, we can't make them help her.

Will finish up some chores today and do some work and Spence is going to hang not much on the go for us.
