Not a great day today - but it's almost done.

Spence was off with his dad overnight - so he was having a good time.  I got up around 2 or so as Hunter threw up....then near 5am while he had an 6am everyone needed to go pee.  I left for work at 10am, Spence beat me home to find that Karma had torn apart a few of my belongings and Hunter had another accident.

I took Hunter off to the vet and almost $300 later, we have him on antibiotics and are hoping that will be the ticket.

I also got a call from Hunter's sitter telling me that she couldn't take care of Noc as she is allergic and unless all she had to do was clean kitty litter and food - she couldn't do for the notice.  I finally got a hold of Karma's kennel and they said they don't take cats, but would take Noc and have him as the mascot kitten for the 3 weeks I am away.

I needed a do over day....we had pasta for supper and otherwise plan to relax for the rest of the night.

Gotta love the flu - I seem to have gotten a version of it and ended up in a sleepless toss / turn last night and feeling like crap today - so I've cancelled everything that we had planned to do out of the house as I don't think I should drive right now.

So we'll do school and I'll do a bit of work and then try and sleep again during the day when I am finally too tired to stay awake.

Another school day for Spence while I am at the dentist and orthodontist for some work today and then hopefully will get around to do doing chores and actual chargeable work.

Ethiopian for supper tonight - slow cooker has the chicken stew all ready, while I prepped all the other dishes last night - except the crepes.

Well, another perfectly -29 day with windchill (-18 without).....and I had appliance people coming for repairs and replacements, so we decided it was a good stay at home day.

Spence is doing his regular stuff - essay, drums, reading, printing, spelling and math.  I'm working and doing chores and hoping to finish drywalling the south wall today.

It is very cold and all the news stations are asking folks to stay home if they can.  Buses for schools are not running and Spencer's class has been canceled.

This is a sign - stay home :)

Our plan instead is to do some school for Spence and then chill till his dad gets off work and grabs him for supper and I will be working from home, getting some drywall up and doing some chores.

Well the weather network was right - it's a blizzard out there.  I decided to forgo going downtown this morning and thank goodness.  I will work from home and then Spence has a few appointments this afternoon that we have to go to (ortho, eye exam) before we leave for holidays.

Will be a nice and warm day in the house with the fire on :)

No real plans for today for Spence - he was going to see a movie with a buddy, but his buddy is sick.... so instead he plans to chill with his friends online playing video games.

A storm is rolling through Calgary tonight, so I am hoping to insulate all exterior open walls today and vapor barrier them before tonight.  I am also hitting the mall because I need my apple power cord replaced and I'm hoping it'll take no time at all with an appointment.  Otherwise, it's chores and work for me.  Got all my billings done last night and sent them off, so I can concentrate on actual work today.
Dr. Who for Ottafest 2013
So Spence decided on Dr. Who - we got the stuff together and Spence got organized for this morning.  We left around lunch and he was at the festival until 4pm.  He got lots of pictures taken with him - which was a bonus and he got a bunch of posters.

I went to Trail Appliance in the meantime to hunt down a stove solution.  I was still debating what to do - move to a slide in range solution and live with that or get a transition stove which I'll sell when I'm ready to renovate the kitchen.  The sales guy was great and helped me decide - so I ended up with an induction, double oven + warming drawer freestanding stove at half off.  So now I get to try the induction before committing permanently and I get to try a warming drawer to see if I even ever use it....and it has all sorts of functions my current 25 yr old stove doesn't have and the bonus - it's 350 kWh/year v almost 900 kWh/year with my old one....wait 25 yrs and the energy efficiency really gets good.

Came home with Spence after stove was purchased and then after feeding the pets, left for dinner out with a group of folks at a Lebanese place in Marda Loop.  Poor waitress - 32 vegetarians ascend on a small restaurant that also serves meat :)  and they were short staffed.  The food was really good and the service was good - even though they were short 2 front staff and had an event tonight.  I would go back for sure and brought Spence a chicken wrap from them.

Then it was off to do some billings and work as work waits for no one :)
